Think about that. Every story, every TV show, every movie, or book, or comic you have EVER read has had cishet people in it. Every. Single. One.

Even shows like Queer as Folk have more recurring straight characters than most shows have recurring LGBTQ+ characters. How sad is that?

Black people get typecast as an extremely specific type of villain - they’re thugs, brutish and animalistic. South Asian actors are similarly typecast as scary oppressive (usually coded Muslim) terrorists.

But when your villain is of the superhuman archetype? When they’re brooding antiheroes, when they’re nuanced, when they’re multi-faceted?

They’re white.

I actually really love this because he may have been messing around but this is a good way to think. If you see everyone as one race- namely, the one you are- then you are more likely to focus on their personalities.
